2012 Linn-Mar Growl Prowl 8K / 5K
MissionThe mission of the Growl Prowl is to raise funds from the community in order to help provide the basic needs for living and for learning that a growing number of Linn-Mar children lack. The 2008-2010 Growl Prowl races were a huge success, with more than 600 5k runners and over 50 sponsors helping raise almost $15,000 that has been allocated to schools. Funds are distributed to Linn-Mar school buildings during the school year. About the 8K & 5K Run/WalkThe Linn-Mar Growl Prowl 8K & 5K Run/Walk, Youth Mile Run, and Kids' Fun Run provides an opportunity for everyone in the family to participate. The event is both for runners and walkers. The 2012 event will be chip timed. Participants are asked to park in the Linn-Mar High School east or south parking lot (east or south of the HS gym). The race will begin and end outside the new Linn-Mar Stadium. The course is out and back, wheel-measured, flat, and fast. Participants will receive a t-shirt at packet pick-up / registration and complimentary refreshments following the race. Awards will be presented to the top male and female overall finishers. An award will also be presented to the top two finishers in each age group for both the 8K and 5K: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over. |
